Dr. Mehta has completed MBBS graduation and DTCD course from Government Medical College, Baroda. Subsequently he achieved his DNB degree in Respiratory Medicine from Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre, one of the premier medical institutes in India. With a pursuit for further knowledge, Dr. Mehta secured a Fellowship in Critical Care from Critical Care Medicine Dept Jaslok, under the able guidance of Dr. Jamshed Sunavala, Dr. Mayur Patel and Dr. P K Jain. Moreover, he engaged in overseas fellowship programs that enabled him to get a sound grip over the requisite scientific knowledge. He holds the distinction of being the first Mumbaikar to receive the American Academy of Sleep Medicine’s prestigious Fellowship Training in Sleep Medicine (at Hospital of Univ of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia) for International Scholars. His name also figures among one of the first Indian Chest Physicians to secure a European Respiratory Society Training Fellowship in Interventional Pulmonology at Thoraxklinik Heidelberg, Germany.
Dr. Mehta started his career in 2007 but subsequently felt the need to spearhead an independent centre. Thus in 2012, Dr. Mehta established Shwaas Chest Clinic, a state of the art centre for diagnosing and treating human respiratory and sleep-related breathing problems. This centre provides comprehensive care for a host of illnessess like Bronchitis, TB, Asthma, COPD, Pneumonia, Lung Fibrosis, Lung injury and Failure of lungs, Snoring and Sleep Apnea , Tobacco De-addiction and Quitsmoke Programmes etc, with a great emphasis on compassion and sensitivity.
